Boating on the Norfolk Broads

Posted In: Life | Life in Norfolk

Summer days are meant for soaking up the sunshine with friends and family, drinking bubbles, relaxing and … boating! If you live in Norfolk, you’ll probably be familiar with the Broads. It’s this huge network of waterways. It’s very popular and especially in the summer because you can hire a boat for the day (or longer) and go meandering down the river at your own pace. You can do a bit of kayaking or canoeing, moor to a patch of grass to bask in the sun or to a pub for a lazy lunch or you can also sail to the ice cream boat for a treat. It’s really quite a fun day and it’s not even that expensive, especially if you’re a group.
Richard’s family was in town so we hired a boat from Broad Tours to go and explore. We left from Wroxham and went all the way to Malthouse broad where we moored for a picnic before slowly making our way back.
While we were on our boat, I spotted lots of holiday cottages with floor to ceiling windows, manicured lawns, wooden decks with sun loungers…. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? I’ll be back!

You always find the best places around water!!!! And it looks like the weather spoilt you on your trip up stream as well.

Ha thanks! Believe it or not, it was actually really grey and rainy all morning. It only got better after lunch but that was enough time for us to make the most of the day 🙂 xx
