Last Friday I flew home to France for a long weekend. The reason for this trip was to introduce Rich’s family to mine. I guess it was a fairly logical move after 4 years together but I’m not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about it. I tried to postpone all attempts of gatherings for as long as I possibly could but let’s face it, this was just getting ridiculous! I’m so glad I pushed myself though because we had a great weekend 🙂
The weather was stupidly gorgeous and it felt like summer the whole time. The city was glowing and I noticed for the first time in god knows how long the stunning architecture, the smell of food in the streets, the colourful buildings, the cobbled streets, the enormous amount of terraced cafes… As an expat, the question I often get is “Do you miss home?” and usually my answer is no because I’ve always wanted to experience life abroad and that’s exactly what I’m doing. But after this weekend I have to say I’m feeling a little bit homesick. Luckily for me, I’ll be back in less than 2 months for the Christmas holidays!
